How KARE is Making a Difference

KARE, Haywood County’s Children’s Advocacy Center, offers essential services to children and families affected by abuse and neglect—completely free of charge. Services include:

Support Services: advocacy and mental health care.
Forensic Interviews: Helping children share their stories safely.
Community Collaboration: facilitating a multidisciplinary team to prioritize children’s needs.
Community Training Programs: programs for children and adults

Our new building will allow us to expand these services, ensuring every child gets the care they deserve.

Our current facility has served us well, but rising demand for services and programs limits how much we can do for children and families in crisis. The new KARE facility will help us:

Expand Services: More rooms mean shorter wait times and greater capacity.
Create a Safe Haven: A welcoming, child-centered design to comfort families and increase confidentiality.
Increase Impact: Space to grow our team and introduce new programs to meet increasing community needs.
Enhance Collaboration: Dedicated areas for team and multidisciplinary meetings to improve care.

Donors will receive naming rights to a prominent feature of the building, a plaque of recognition posted in the main walkway, priority registration for Festival of Trees, KARE swag, and more.

$5,000-$10,000

Donors will get to choose a brick or wall tile with personal inscription, priority registration for Festival of Trees, KARE swag, and more.

Advocate

$1,000-$5,000

Donors will receive recognition on the donor wall, a custom certificate of appreciation, KARE swag, and more.

Helper

$250-$1,000

Donors will receive recognition on the donor wall, KARE swag, and more.
